The Warwick Energy Fund offers emergency heating for private residents (owner-occupier or private tenant) in Warwick district who have a broken boiler or are without heating for other reasons. If eligible, any affected resident will be sent up to three electric heaters to help heat their home.

To reduce energy bills, Act on Energy will also be able to provide the affected residents with ongoing support in relation to energy debt management, and access to any grants such as the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme, to retrofit their home and improve its energy efficiency.

]]><![CDATA[Cromwell Lane bridge to be closed 7th April - 30th September 2026]]>Sun, 29 Mar 2026 16:02:19 GMThttps://www.burtongreenparishcouncil.org/news/cromwell-lane-bridge-to-be-closed-7th-april-30th-september-2026The closure will be in place 24 hours per day, a diversion route for vehicles will be in place (see below), pedestrians and cyclists will be escorted safely through the closure. 

HS2 will be carrying out a programme of utility works on the bridge, including relocation of multiple sets of utilities and highway surfacing works, to return the bridge to its original alignment. To carry out these works the bridge will be closed to create a safe working environment. Working hours will be from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Burton Green Parish Council recently engaged an Arboricultural Consultant to carry out an inspection of the trees we have taken on at the Burrow Hill car park; their report identified some decay, tip dieback within the upper crown and major deadwood present in the mature oak tree.
 
The oak tree is in a prominent place, and the Parish Council must balance public safety, conservation, and the character of the village. After careful consideration, the Parish Council has contracted Warwickshire County Council Forestry to carry out the recommended works which include the removal of major deadwood and a 2.5 metre crown reduction.

The works will take place on Thursday 12th February 2026 between 9:30am and 3pm and may continue on Friday 13th if necessary.
 
Residents are kindly requested not to leave cars in the parking spaces near the tree on those days.
