In response to concerns raised by residents about crime and anti-social behaviour, the Parish Council met with PC Mark Finch from our Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and as a result PC Finch has invited all Burton Green residents to an informal drop in event called ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ .
The first Burton Green ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ will be held on Tuesday 9th July between 12.00 – 3.00pm in the Tacon Room at the Village Hall, Red Lane, Burton Green. This is an opportunity for residents to meet with PC Finch and his team in an informal setting and for you to raise any concerns you may have, seek crime prevention advice or simply drop in for a cuppa and to meet the officers; PC Finch is committed to working with us to address local concerns. ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ is open to everyone with no set agenda and PC Finch looks forward to meeting anyone that would like to drop in to this informal meeting. This is a regular event and will be continuing every six to eight weeks with future dates to be confirmed. If you are unable to attend the session and have concerns or questions for the local policing team, please visit https://www.warwickshire.police.uk/area/your-area/ for their contact details. Members of the public are being asked to share their views on a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which will provide a framework for guiding the level of growth of the campus at the University of Warwick as well as formalising design principles.
The draft masterplan, prepared by Warwick District Council in partnership with Coventry City Council and the University of Warwick, identifies a number of proposals up to 2033 based on the long-term vision and priorities of the University. These include plans for a new business school, social sciences quarter, science precinct and energy innovation centre and the creation of an eco-park. The plans also address on and off campus transport infrastructure and the provision of additional student accommodation. If adopted the Warwick Campus Framework Masterplan SPD will provide WDC with supplementary guidance which will assist the determination of future planning applications. The SPD is subject to a six-week statutory consultation, starting on Friday 24 May with the deadline for submissions Friday 5 July 2024. Printed copies of the documents are available for inspection during normal opening hours at the following locations. • Royal Pump Rooms, Parade, Leamington Spa • Brunswick Healthy Living Centre • Kenilworth Library • Leamington Spa Library • Lillington Library • Warwick Library (Shire Hall, Warwick) • Whitnash Civic Centre & Library The consultation document, and supporting information, can be viewed online on the Warwick District Council website. |
