Emergency Alert test - Sunday 7th, 3pm

The UK government will be conducting a national test of the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday at 3pm. Mobile phones on 4G and 5G networks will emit a loud siren-like sound and vibrate for up to 10 seconds. A message will appear on screens confirming this is just a test – no action is needed.  This system is designed to warn people of life-threatening emergencies like severe weather or public safety threats. Regular testing ensures it works properly when needed.
