Grants available to delivery cleaner heat to your home and save money on energy bills

6/11/2025

Warwick District Council has secured £2.42m from the Government’s Warm Homes Plan to help households save money on their energy bills and deliver cleaner heat to their homes.
Working with local charity Act on Energy and retrofit specialists Energy Efficiency Consultants and Broad Oak Group, the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme will help improve around 150 homes in Warwick District with measures such as:
• Solar photovoltaic panels including battery storage
• Air source heat pumps
• Loft, cavity and external wall insulation
• Smart heating controls

To be eligible, residents need to:
• own and live in their home, or rent it privately as a tenant, within Warwick District; and
• have a gross household income of £36,000 or less per year OR live in an eligible postcode area OR are on means tested benefits and
• live in a home that has an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of D, E, F or G; if you don’t know your home’s EPC rating, we will complete one as part of this scheme.

Act on Energy will be processing the applications, with eligible households receiving a full home survey to find the right measures for them by Energy Efficiency Consultants (EEC). Broad Oak Group will then oversee the installation of the measures to the property.

Anyone who thinks they may be eligible are urged to check the criteria, eligible postcodes and FAQs at www.warwickdc.gov.uk/WHLG, before applying directly to Act on Energy. As the scheme is in its early stages, there will be an extended period of time to wait before hearing back from Act on Energy, but anyone eligible is advised to make an initial contact.
