​Ahead of the new 123+ recycling and refuse collection service starting next week on Monday 1 August, Warwick District Council is providing residents with an update on food caddy and bin deliveries.
 
Deliveries of the food caddies and blue-lidded recycling bins are ongoing, however due to several factors, delivery is currently behind schedule. Priority is being given to the delivery of food caddies and the Council are working hard to deliver all of these by 1 August. Priority is also being given to the delivery of recycling bins for those properties that have a recycling collection next week.
 
Residents who have not yet received their bins, just need to report this to us once by emailing [email protected].
 
All waste will still be collected even if the new bins have not arrived.
 
If you haven’t received an information book or calendar – you can view collection dates and the schedule on the Council website; enter your postcode, find your address then select the ‘waste collections’ tab and scroll down to see the dates and schedule from 1 August.
 
You can also download the Council’s app on the App Store or Google Play, and collection dates will be in there from 1 August.
 
If you haven’t received your food caddy – food waste can be put into the garden waste bin temporarily if you’ve subscribed to the collection of them from 1 August. Otherwise, food waste can be placed in the grey bin until the food caddy arrives.
 
If you haven’t received your recycling bin – priority is being given to those properties that have a recycling collection next week. If you haven’t received it by the time of your collection continue to use your red boxes to present the recycling. There is no need to sort it, just put it all in your red boxes for it to be collected.
 
If you have your blue-lidded bin but have extra recycling, then you can use your red boxes to put out the extra next to your bin.

The bridge will be closed 24 hours a day during this period for gas and sewer diversion works. A diversion will be in place throughout the closures and access to all properties will be maintained.  Click here for the HS2 works notification.

Taking place every day over the course of the Commonwealth Games from Thursday 28 July 2022 – Monday 8 August 2022, there will be two festival sites in Warwick District: one in the Pump Room Gardens in Royal Leamington Spa and another in Market Square in Warwick where you can visit any time between 10am to 10pm and enjoy live streaming of the Games on the big screen, a picnic with friends or just soak up the atmosphere.
Both are completely free to attend and provide the opportunity to catch not just the sporting action from across the West Midlands, but also a selection of locally made films and aminations from local creatives as part of Warwick District’s CultureFest.

Residents in private properties in Warwick District can apply for funding to improve the energy efficiency of their home through the Sustainable Warmth Competition.
 
Funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and delivered by the Council’s delivery partner E.ON with support from Act On Energy, the scheme aims to help improve the energy efficiency of low income private households in the District with free improvements to their home including solar PV panels, insulation and air source heat pumps.
 
To be eligible, residents must:

• Own and live in their home; and
• Have a gross household income of less than £30,000 year OR someone in the home receives a means tested benefit and
• Have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G; if the home doesn’t have an EPC rating then E.ON will arrange this for you if they think that your property is energy inefficient

Funding is provided up to a maximum of £10,000 per property subject to the terms and conditions of the grant, with the work carried out by a Trustmark registered contractor.
Applications are being made through local charity Act On Energy, with E.ON Energy Solutions carrying out the installations.
