Click here to see the collection dates for waste and recycling over Christmas.
There will be no changes to the day that refuse and recycling collections take place; the teams will be working as normal on all bank holidays including Monday 27 & Tuesday 28 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022, so residents are advised to present their bins, boxes or bags at the roadside as normal by 7am on the day of their collection. To ensure that the teams can deal with the increased recycling generated at this time of year, there will be no green bin collections from Monday 27 December 2021 to Friday 7 January 2022 inclusive. Green bin collections will resume from Monday 10 January 2022. During this time, food waste can be placed in the grey bin. If residents wish to continue putting their food waste in the green bin, the advice is to wrap it in newspaper or use compostable caddy liners. Any extra recycling that doesn’t fit in to the boxes or bags can be put in a sturdy bag or small box and placed next to the boxes and bags on the day of each collection; each material must be in its own separate container (e.g., paper in one container, tins/cans in another). Any extra cardboard must be cut down and flattened to no more than 1m x 1m. If residents have bought real Christmas trees this year, these can be recycled in one of two ways: 1. In the green bin as long as it has been cut into pieces; these will be collected on the next collection date from Monday 10 January 2022. Or better still; 2. The Council are also supporting two local charities this year, The Myton Hospices and Pass the Smile, who offer a real Christmas tree collection and recycling service from the doorstep for a small donation. Volunteers will be out collecting and recycling real Christmas trees between 8 – 10 January 2022 and collections can be booked at www.charityxmastreecollection.com Find recycling tips and keep up to date with the latest news on collections over Christmas, including any changes as a result of bad weather at www.warwickdc.gov.uk/christmasrecycling Notice from HS2:
Between 6 December and 18 December we will be carrying out trial hole excavations and utility surveys in the verge of Hodgetts Lane, Burton Green, this is to locate utility services and carry out ground condition surveys. To carry out these works safely we will be installing a road closure from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day. During these hours a fully signed diversion will be in place. Our workforce may be in place one hour before and one hour after to set up and secure our equipment. Outside of these hours temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be used. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. There will be advanced warning signs placed in the area. These works are subject to weather conditions. |
