Proposal to merge the two wards in Burton Green.

Residents will shortly receive a letter from Warwick District Council asking for their opinions on a proposal to remove the ward boundary between the Burton Green ward (7 Councillors) and the University Ward (4 Councillors) and for the Parish Council to become one single electoral area with eleven Councillors. With this re-arrangement, all 11 elected Councillors would work for the whole Parish electoral area, and not within their ward area.

The District Council wants to know what residents within the Parish think about this proposed re-arrangement and invites residents to send their views in writing to Gillian Friar, Electoral Services Manager, Warwick District Council, Riverside House, Milverton Hill, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 5HZ or by email to [email protected].
The deadline for sending views and responses for consideration in this first stage is noon Thursday 6 October 2022.
